Job summary

MKS Inc. is seeking a Electrical Engineering intern/co-op in Wilmington, MA. You will work with Plasma & Reactive Gas Solutions on advanced power electronics, testing high-frequency converters, and supporting cross-functional teams.

The role requires mechatronics and circuit test experience, with opportunities to learn from senior engineers and contribute to manufacturing applications. 6–8 month term begins January 2027, with a 40+ hour workweek and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program for Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in an R&D electronics lab is desired.
• Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, power meters and high voltage probes for testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in analysis, design, and testing of advanced power electronics breakthroughs.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to test/characterize high frequency power converters/rectifiers/inverters.
• Work independently with limited supervision on multiple cross-functional projects.
• Be highly self-motivated with a hands-on, can-do mentality.
• Interface with product engineering and cross-functional teams as required.
• Collaborate with a diverse, multifunctional team environment.
