This candidate will work under general supervision and perform assignments of limited scope that require the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related tasks. The intern will gain hands‑on experience supporting the design and analysis of electrical systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Interest in electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and building electrical design.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team-oriented and self‑motivated, with the ability to work effectively with a team of professionals and independently.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and building electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering/design software is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, performs entry‑level electrical engineering duties of moderate difficulty, gaining exposure to electrical systems and engineering projects.
• Assists with electrical design tasks, including power distribution, lighting systems, electrical load calculations, equipment selection, and preparation of design documents.
• Supports engineers with project data collection, technical calculations, reports, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation.
• Assists with reviewing electrical drawings, equipment schedules, and project specifications for accuracy and completeness.
• Supports field investigations and site visits to document existing electrical systems and conditions.
• Gains experience using engineering and design software to assist with electrical system layouts, calculations, drafting, and documentation.
• Supports project teams with various technical and administrative assignments as needed.
• Develops an understanding of applicable building codes, electrical codes, industry standards, and design practices.
• Specific activities vary by assignment and project needs.
