Job summary

LiquidPiston, Inc. is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern for Spring 2027 to join our Controls & Electronics team in Suffield, CT.

You’ll work on embedded firmware, sensors, and power electronics across real hardware and engine systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience solving real engineering problems, testing on lab hardware, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
Hands-on experience with electrical lab equipment and circuitry.

Responsibilities

Support analog and digital circuit design, prototyping, and testing.
Perform electrical testing with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and test equipment.
Assist with schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
Assist with embedded firmware development in C for TI C2000 microcontrollers.
Support sensor integration (pressure, temperature, speed, voltage, current).
Collaborate across mechanical, firmware, controls, and test engineers during integration and validation.
Document test results and technical findings; participate in iterative design improvements.
