Job summary

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Columbus, OH. Over 10-12 weeks, you’ll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems for building projects, with an HVAC focus area within multidisciplinary project work.

You’ll support project budgets, coordinate with cross‑functional teams, document decisions, and help meet client expectations on healthcare and MEP projects.

Qualifications

  • Required: Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong interest in design consulting and ability to communicate clearly.
  • Exposure to CAD/BIM tools and MS Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design of electrical systems for projects in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
  • Research commercially available equipment and supporting resources.
  • Support client relations, maintain the project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.
  • Coordinate design and schedule activities with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teams.
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check.
  • Help prepare and issue addendum information.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement.
