Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech is seeking an electrical engineering intern to design reliable, functional electrical systems and provide BOMs for new and revised designs. You will help optimize manufacturing flow, reduce parts, and cut costs while working within the engineering team.

The role involves creating schematics, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting service and production teams on electrical and multiplexing questions. Internship duties vary by unit and location.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or engineering related field for the entire duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts and schematics using computer aided design software.
• Create Bills of Material (BOM).
• Select materials for engineered parts.
• Dimension and tolerance drawings to ensure proper assembly fit.
• Conform to drafting standards and department policies.
• Prepare engineering change notices (ECN).
• Consult and coordinate with suppliers.
• Checks own work and that of others.
• Works independently with minimal direction.
• Maintain a working knowledge of One World, PRIDE and PC network systems.
• Support Customer Service with direction on electrical and multiplexing related field problems.
• Support manufacturing with direction on electrical and multiplexing related questions, features and upgrades.
• Support Production Specialists with direction on option configuration.
• Job duties will vary depending on business unit and location of internship.
