Job summary

Hobart, part of the ITW Food Equipment Group, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in Troy, Ohio. You will support ongoing innovation projects on meat slicers and planetary mixers, focusing on embedded systems.

Responsibilities include prototyping electronics with Raspberry Pi/Arduino, soldering and modifying PCBs, developing embedded code, creating schematics, and working with cross-functional teams to bring R&D closer to production.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Junior or Senior class of 2026–2027.
• Able to commute to Troy, Ohio for the duration of the internship.

The Hobart Food Machines division is located in Troy, Ohio, and is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern. This position will provide electrical engineering support for ongoing innovation projects on meat slicers and planetary mixers focusing on embedded systems.

• Work with prototype electronics using Raspberry Pi, Arduino or similar as well as hands‑on experience soldering and/or modifying PCBs and test boxes.
• Work with embedded systems to develop code for algorithms including communications, signal processing, etc.
• Create and/or modify electrical schematics.
• Help develop and bring R&D projects, including accessories or main features, closer to production ready.
• Work with DC motors to drive smaller mechanical features as well as with Variable frequency drives to drive AC motors.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC circuits.
• Learn about various electrical and electronics equipment.
• Intern will work with cross functional internal team members including engineers, technicians, and machine operators.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field.
• Must be classified as a Junior or Senior school year 2026 to 2027.
• Able to commute to our facility in the Troy, Ohio area for the duration of the internship experience.
