Job summary

Hobart, part of the ITW Food Equipment Group, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern in Troy, Ohio. You will support ongoing innovation projects on meat slicers and planetary mixers, focusing on embedded systems.

Responsibilities include prototyping electronics with Raspberry Pi/Arduino, soldering and modifying PCBs, developing embedded code, creating schematics, and working with cross-functional teams to bring R&D closer to production.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Junior or Senior class of 2026–2027.
• Able to commute to Troy, Ohio for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Prototype electronics using Raspberry Pi, Arduino or similar; hands-on soldering/modifying PCBs and test boxes.
• Develop code for embedded systems, including communications and signal processing.
• Create and/or modify electrical schematics.
• Support R&D projects and bring features closer to production readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians and machine operators.
