Job summary

Danfoss Drives in Loves Park, IL is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to contribute to active product development in our power electronics team. You'll work on real projects, apply your knowledge, and learn from experienced engineers in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering.
  • Coursework in Power Engineering or Power Electronics is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently up to 40 hours/week.
  • Ability to use simulation/analysis tools for modeling and design.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to an active product development project within the power electronics team.
  • Collaborate with teammates to understand background, testing, analysis and conclusions.
  • Document design process, calculations, test data and results in reports or journals.
  • Present accomplishments to the department at internship end.
  • Participate in department meetings and provide general project support.

Join Danfoss Drives as an Electrical Engineering Intern and become an integral part of our power electronics department. What You’ll Be Doing
  • Contribute to an active product development project, completing a package of work that directly impacts our ongoing activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand the background, testing, analysis, and conclusions of your work assignment.
  • Document your design process, calculations, test data, and results in a detailed report or design journal.
  • Present your accomplishments to the department at the end of your internship, showcasing your contributions and learnings.
  • Participate in department meetings and activities, providing general support to other projects as needed.
What We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering.
  • Coursework or focus on Power Engineering or Power Electronics is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively share ideas in formal, informal, and brainstorming sessions.
  • Ability to manage your time effectively and work independently on tasks up to 40 hours per week.
  • Situational awareness for personal safety in a laboratory setting, with the ability to follow safety rules and protocols.
  • Proficiency in using computer tools for simulation, analysis, and modeling.
