Electrical (ECAD) Engineering Designer
We are searching for an Electrical (ECAD) Engineering Designer to join the Mechanical and Electrical Design and Drafting (MEDD) team at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. The ARL researches and develops innovative solutions to support the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC). The MEDD Service Center collaborates with ARL Research Offices to create CAD-based Mechanical & Electrical Designs, including drawing compliance and configuration management.
The position may be filled as Engineering Designer – Principal Professional (Associate Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination) or as Engineering Designer – Senior Professional (Associate Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination). No specific certifications are required.
100% on‑site in State College, Pennsylvania. Options for a hybrid work-from-office and work-from-home scenario may exist depending on research requirements.
All positions require successful completion of university background checks. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and are expected to obtain a government security clearance. A pre‑employment drug screen is required.
The salary range for this position is $61,800.00 – $102,300.00, which may be impacted by geographic differential.
