Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Knoxville, TN invites you to join as an Electrical Engineering Co-op. This paid program combines classroom knowledge with hands-on hardware development in a global medical technology leader.

As a co‑op, you will help develop PCB assemblies, FPGA designs, test fixtures, and supporting tools while documenting results and integrating new releases. We seek students pursuing EE, CE, or CS with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who are eligible for university co-op programs and eager to grow

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (rising senior preferred).
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred).
• Registered and eligible to participate in a co‑op through your university.

Responsibilities

• Develop low complexity printed circuit board assemblies, FPGA designs, and test fixtures.
• Develop test firmware/scripts for automated testing of assemblies.
• Development of engineering tools, databases, websites, and hardware infrastructure needed to support the engineering environment.
• Integration testing of new hardware/software releases with thorough documentation of test results and written report summary.
• Creation of defect reports and verification of fixes.
• Calibration and field return analysis.

Responsibilities

This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands‑on experience. As an Electrical Engineering Co-op, you will be responsible for:

Skills

This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to develop your skills with Healthineers:

• Education focus in the following areas: signal processing, analog or digital circuit design.
• Working knowledge and use of computer system hardware, operating systems, application software, drivers and peripherals.
• Familiarity with engineering tools and test equipment is considered a plus.
• Experience with FPGA hardware and programming in VHDL is a plus.
• Experience in Microsoft Office products.
