Job summary

LEGO Group in Boston invites a motivated Electrical Engineering student to join the Creative Play Lab for a six-month co-op in Spring 2027. You will work with senior engineers on PCB design, test, and debugging of electronic subsystems in a hands-on setting.

This role emphasizes collaboration across Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Firmware teams, with a hybrid 3-day-in-office schedule at 1001 Boylston St.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Electrical Engineering or related program.
• Prior co-op experience in electrical engineering or related.
• Hands-on experience with soldering and lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics, circuit board layouts, and electrical design software such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or KiCad.
• Good fundamentals of analog and digital design building blocks such as passive components, transistors, op amps, logic gates, and clocks.
• Basic understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, or UART.
• Ability to apply fundamental electrical concepts in breaking down technical challenges into their building blocks for root cause analysis.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for working with global design hubs in Denmark, London, and Singapore.

Responsibilities

• With the support of senior engineers in the design and test of printed circuit boards, debugging and measuring the performance of electronic subsystems
• Assist in root‑cause investigations by debugging circuits, gathering sensor data, and performing bench tests of features that are critical‑to‑Play
• Partner with Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Firmware teams to design protocols for test system integration
• Take initiative by proactively identifying tasks in alignment with project goals
• Communicate technical findings, test procedures, and project milestones to the broader engineering team
