Job summary

Schaeffler invites motivated Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics students to join our Co-Op for Humanoid Robotics in Troy, MI. You will help develop electrical and mechatronic systems used in humanoid robots, collaborating with experts to move designs from research to real-world deployment.

You will participate in hardware design, sensor/actuator integration, and prototype validation, while gaining hands-on experience across cross-functional teams in a global engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Must have GPA 2.5 or higher.
• Experience with circuit design, embedded systems, analog and digital electronics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, and testing of electrical systems for humanoid robots, including power distribution and embedded electronics.
• Support integration of sensors, actuators, and control units into robotic subsystems (arms, joints, mobility platforms).
• Contribute to prototype development and validation, including wiring harnesses and PCB testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, AI) to enable full mechatronic system functionality.
• Analyze performance data from test systems and factory deployments to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Assist with hardware-in-the-loop testing, system calibration, and signal validation.
• Participate in documentation of designs, test procedures, and engineering results.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and business needs.
