Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering.
• Proven track record of bringing multi-layer (8+ layer / HDI) boards into production.
• Strong familiarity with routing high-speed buses: PCIe, USB 3.x, MIPI CSI/DSI, Gigabit/10G Ethernet, HDMI/DisplayPort.
• Hands-on PCB design and review expertise.
• Experience with high-power design and power electronics.
• Genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior engineers.

• Mentor junior electrical engineers to accelerate their growth.
• Review PCB designs—schematics, layout, signal integrity, and manufacturability for high-speed carrier boards.
• Advise on component selection for connectors and interfaces.
• Advise on end-to-end power architecture and sequencing for compute modules and power systems.
• Advise on electrical safety analysis and risk mitigation for humanoid platforms.
• Provide guidance on sensor integration, CAN, I2C, and EtherCAT.
• Help establish engineering best practices and documentation standards.

This is a high-impact role with deep influence on product architecture, safety, and scalability through hands-on technical guidance. We’ve moved through the hardware lifecycle at lightspeed -- building our first prototype in two months, fulfilling our first order in nine months (vs. 31 months for Figure), and working with a $4B revenue manufacturer. Our units are deployed across several fields today, including cooking, retail, manufacturing, and more.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior electrical engineers to accelerate their professional growth
• Review PCB designs — schematics, layout, signal integrity, and manufacturability — for high-speed custom carrier boards for SOMs and edge compute platforms, including HDI layout, stackup definitions, and controlled-impedance routing for onboard high-speed peripherals
• Advise on component selection for fine-pitch board-to-board (B2B) connectors, Ethernet PHYs, USB hubs, and sensor expansion interfaces
• Advise on power architecture end to end — power system design and validation, multi-rail power management, power distribution units, and power-on sequencing for high-performance compute modules, through to high-power systems (battery, motor drives, and thermal)
• Advise on electrical safety analysis and risk mitigation for humanoid platforms
• Provide guidance on sensor integration and fusion, and communication systems including CAN, I2C, and EtherCAT
• Help establish electrical engineering best practices, design review processes, and documentation standards

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of industry experience in electrical engineering
• Proven track record of bringing multiple complex, multi-layer (8+ layer / HDI) custom carrier boards into production
• Strong familiarity with routing high-speed peripheral buses: PCIe, USB 3.x, MIPI CSI/DSI, Gigabit/10G Ethernet, and DisplayPort/HDMI
• Deep, hands-on PCB design and review expertise
• Proven experience with high-speed/ high-power / high-voltage design and power electronics
• Genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior engineers
