Job summary

AMETEK is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and specify wiring lists, schematics, circuit boards, and controls components for ultra-precision machine tools. You will collaborate with marketing, application engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to deliver and support products in the field.

Ideal candidates bring a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years (or 1+ years for a master's) of related experience, plus proficiency in Matlab, signal testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of work experience, or Master’s degree with 1+ year of work experience.
• Experience using signal generator, multimeter, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzer.
• General programming knowledge (C, C++, or similar) is desired.
• Experience in data acquisition, analog and digital signal processing.
• Experience with amplifiers, filters, encoders, motion controllers, and feedback loops.
• Experience using Matlab in modeling, data analysis and simulations.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills; travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and engineer new electrical systems meeting customer requirements.
• Represent panel layouts, schematics, wire run lists and assembly procedures using CAD and BOMs.
• Troubleshoot electrical noise and transients, controllers and PMAC or similar equipment.
• Perform engineering changes with attention to design impact and documentation.
• Participate in product design reviews and develop cost effective solutions.
• Contribute to instruction manuals for Precitech’s products.
