Job summary

Griffon Aerospace in Madison, Alabama, seeks a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to lead electrical systems design for advanced UAVs. The role emphasizes technical mentorship, crossing with mechanical, software, and systems teams, from concept through production.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in aerospace or defense electrical systems, strong circuit design and power electronics skills, and the ability to drive projects end-to-end in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 5–10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably in aerospace/defense.
• Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and power systems.
• Experience with circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Altium, Eagle, or equivalent tools.
• U.S. Person status and ability to access ITAR/CUI.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and testing of electrical systems for UAVs.
• Perform circuit board design, component selection, and schematic capture.
• Conduct system-level electrical architecture design and trade studies.
• Lead electrical integration efforts and troubleshoot complex system-level issues.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Lead technical reviews and design reviews with internal teams and customers.
• Develop test plans, specifications, and verification procedures.
• Oversee electrical testing activities and validate system performance against requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, and systems engineering.
• Support manufacturing engineering efforts including design for manufacturability and production support.
• Prepare and present technical documentation including design reports, test results, and technical briefings.
