Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Systems Test Equipment team in Rockford, Illinois. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to develop test equipment and setups for aircraft power generation systems, playing a critical part in advancing the future of electric power technologies for aviation.

You will design, build, and test electrical systems, including wire harnesses, instrumentation, and data recording solutions. With a focus on innovation, you’ll contribute to upgrading our test equipment to the latest technology, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to tackle new challenges in the field.

What You Will Do

  • Evaluate test plans and formulate the necessary requirements for test equipment.

  • Analyze the requirements for unit testing interfaces and electrical circuits to ensure proper functionality.

  • Design harnessing and feeders for test equipment and test setups.

  • Incorporate instrumentation into test setups, including components for measuring flows, pressures, load, torque, airspeed, vibration, temperature, electrical system currents voltages, and discrete signals.

  • Coordinate the build, checkout, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in collaboration with the hourly workforce.

  • Create detailed drawings, presentations, and documentation to support and communicate designs.

  • Generate project estimates and manage the project within specified timeframes and budgets for both time and cost.

Qualifications You Must Have

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in electrical design and integration

  • Ability to collaborate with test operators to modify and set up test equipment

  • Strong skills in preparing and presenting analysis, reports, test results, and other contract deliverables

  • Experience working on both large and small-scale projects

  • Experience with LabView software development or a proven ability to provide support for it.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
