Joby is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our system electronics team in San Carlos, CA. You will own key electrical subsystems from design through prototyping to production, with emphasis on reliability, weight, and efficiency.

You will collaborate with mechanical and software teams, take ownership of schematics, testing, and validation plans, and contribute to design-for-reliability activities in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the relevant industry.
• Schematic capture and PCB design.
• Experience with component selection.
• Hands-on hardware build and debugging.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create clear and readable schematics for digital and mixed-signal PCBs.
• Component selection for minimum mass and maximum reliability.
• Investigate modern technologies for power and data transmission/management.
• Work with PCB designers to create reliable and low-weight layouts.
• Write requirements, perform DFMEAs and develop test plans.
