Job summary

Barnowl Advisory Group seeks an Electrical Engineer to oversee Electrical Engineering and Consulting services for client projects across California. Responsibilities include physical layout design, substation elements, grounding, protection, and BOM management.

The role requires a B.E. in Electrical Engineering, 2–4 years experience, and familiarity with NESC and IEEE/ANSI standards. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• 2-4 years related experience (master's may substitute for one year).
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE/ANSI Standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual designs and execution plans.
• Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.
• Physical substation design: yard layouts, plans, sections, grounding, protection, power systems, BOM.
• Studies and reports: grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies.
• Equipment specs for procurement and factory acceptance testing.
• Coordinate design activities with Civil/Structural, Networks, and Transmission teams.
• Develop and improve processes, tools, and technology implementations.
• Meet with clients or outside personnel; perform QA reviews.
• Provide short-term field support during construction.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives.
• Other areas may include relay settings, 3D modeling/design, or technical committees involvement.
