Job summary

Wainwright Talent Partners is seeking an Electrical Engineer to oversee Electrical Engineering and Consulting services across California. Responsibilities include creating physical layout design deliverables for diverse projects from distribution upgrades to large transmission systems.

Required are a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 2–4 years of related experience, with strong communication and analytical skills, and familiarity with NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• 2–4 years related experience (master's may substitute for one year).
• Proficiency with the National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE/ANSI standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical/problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual designs and execution plans.
• Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.
• Physical substation design, including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material.
• Calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.).
• Equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.
• Lead coordination of design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, etc.).
• Develop and improve processes, tools, and/or technology implementations.
• Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel.
• Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers.
• Provide short-term field support during construction.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives.
• Other areas of involvement may include relay settings, 3D modeling/design, or industry/professional technical committee involvement.
