Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer for substations with a focus on protection relay design and interconnection projects. The role involves developing plans and drawings for renewables and utility interconnections, coordinating with designers and CAD staff, and engaging with customers and vendors.

The candidate should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 2–5 years of experience, and an EIT certification; PE would be a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) certification required; PE exam a plus.
• Experience with renewables/substation design and protection/SCADA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of plans, specifications and inspection reports.
• Assist in preparation of material lists and labor contracts.
• Assist with preparation of Solar/Wind Farm, Battery Storage, substation and interconnection designs and construction drawings (AC/DC, LV/MV/HV).
• Provide direction to designers and CAD operators on assigned team.
• Interact with customers and vendors as needed.
• Supervise and train junior engineers.
• Perform basic MS Office tasks (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

PROJECT ENGINEER - SUBSTATION - PROTECTION RELAY - DESIGN - URGENT NEED

Requirements

• Assist in development of plans, specifications and inspection reports.
• Assist in preparation of material lists and labor contracts.
• Assist with preparation of Solar/Wind Farm, Battery Storage, substation and utility interconnection designs and construction drawings. Including AC/DC, low/medium/high voltage systems.
• Basic administration of material purchases and construction contracts.
• Provide direction to designers, CAD operators on candidate’s assigned team.
• Small degree of customer and vendor interaction.
• Some proficiency in single area of renewables and/or substation engineering such as physical layout design, protection/control/Scada design, relay settings programming, field support, commissioning, relay testing
• Supervises work and assists in training of division Project Engineers I.
• Performs basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required, two to five years of applicable experience required. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required. Pass of PE exam is a plus.
