Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer for Substation design focused on protection relay and related systems. You will assist in plans, specs, material lists, and construction drawings for solar/wind/storage interconnections and HV/LV layouts, coordinating with designers and vendors.

A BS in Electrical Engineering is required with 2–5 years of experience; EIT is required and PE is a plus. The role includes some customer interaction and supervising junior engineers.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required with 2–5 years of applicable experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) exam passing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of plans, specifications and inspection reports.
• Assist in preparation of material lists and labor contracts.
• Prepare designs and construction drawings for Solar/Wind Farm, Battery Storage, substations and utility interconnections, including AC/DC, LV/MV/HV systems.
• Provide basic administration of material purchases and contracts.
• Direct designers and CAD operators on assigned tasks.
• Interact with customers and vendors as needed.
• Support renewables and/or substation engineering areas such as layout, protection/SCADA, relay settings, field support, commissioning and testing.

PROJECT ENGINEER - SUBSTATION - PROTECTION RELAY - DESIGN - URGENT NEED

Requirements

• Assist in development of plans, specifications and inspection reports.
• Assist in preparation of material lists and labor contracts.
• Assist with preparation of Solar/Wind Farm, Battery Storage, substation and utility interconnection designs and construction drawings. Including AC/DC, low/medium/high voltage systems.
• Basic administration of material purchases and construction contracts.
• Provide direction to designers, CAD operators on candidate’s assigned team.
• Small degree of customer and vendor interaction.
• Some proficiency in single area of renewables and/or substation engineering such as physical layout design, protection/control/Scada design, relay settings programming, field support, commissioning, relay testing
• Supervises work and assists in training of division Project Engineers I.
• Performs basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering required, two to five years of applicable experience required. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required. Pass of PE exam is a plus.
