Job summary

Zebra Technologies in Holtsville, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to develop, test, and bring RFID products to production.

You will lead AI/ML initiatives to improve EE design, work cross-functionally with RF, antenna, mechanical, SW, and system test teams, and own schematic capture, PCB layout, and validation across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years experience or Masters degree with 2+ years experience.
• Experience in analog and digital circuit design, memory design, and signal integrity.
• Experience generating schematics using Cadence Allegro and supporting PCB layout.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external JDMs/CMs to bring RFID products to market.

Responsibilities

• Establishes requirements for moderately complex electrical design projects.
• Completes all phases of EE design including power supply analysis, circuit design, thermal analysis, simulation, schematic capture, layout and validation.

What We’re Looking For

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible to develop, maintain and test Electronic circuits used in our existing and new RFID products. The engineer will be responsible for developing products from concept phase to production release. A key responsibility of this senior role is also to proactively investigate, learn, and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions to innovate our engineering processes and drive significant gains in efficiency. This role is a hybrid position and requires a minimum of three days per week in our Holtsville, NY office. Zebra reserves the right to modify your work location based on business need.

• Establishes requirements for moderately complex Electrical design projects.
• Completes all phases of moderately complex Electrical design projects including system design/Power Supply analysis, circuit design, thermal analysis, simulation, schematic, layout and Electrical circuit validation.
• Proactively research, evaluate, and implement emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to continuously improve EE design, testing, and system optimization processes
• Performs EE analysis and simulation for design, optimization and debug
• Generates schematics using Cadence Allegro schematic capture and supports PCB layout.
• Drives and/or Supports customer and cross-functional issue debug for system level issues
• Drives EMI/EMC trouble shooting and validation at product level.
• Works with internal cross-functional teams and external JDMs/CMs to successfully bring Handheld products to market
• Drives EE lab capability development and works with Lab team on test strategy and new technology capability
• Works cross-functionally with RF, Antenna, Mechanical engineering, SW engineering and System Test on system design, test plan development and issue debug
• Applies existing technology in new ways to improve performance and productivity
• Consider latest technologies and new approaches to improve designs and implementation of the design.
• Reviews changes or upgrades to existing applications
• May develop new tools and processes to aid in the analysis and solving of problems as well as efficiency improvement
• Prioritizes quality and seeks out improvements in all aspects of EE projects

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ year experience or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ year experience
• Experience in Analog and Digital circuit design, memory design and signal integrity
• Experience with generating schematics using Cadence Allegro (or similar software) schematic capture and supports PCB layout.
• Experience working with internal cross-functional teams and external JDMs/CMs to successfully bring RFID products to market.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with embedded microprocessors/Microcontrollers such as ST Micro STM32H750 type devices and associated SDRAM and Flash Memory
• WIFI, Bluetooth, RF experience a plus
• Experienced with PSPICE and familiar with FPGA and using C, VHDL/Verilog
• Experienced with or willing to learn basic RF, Compliance requirements and mitigation of EMI, ESD, Immunity issues.
• Knowledgeable about USB, Ethernet, serial interfaces, audio and video interfaces

Pay Range

$96,800.00 - $145,200.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
