Electrical Engineer, Roadway Lighting (ENG Electrical Engineer 3)

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer, Roadway Lighting (ENG Electrical Engineer 3) to join our Chicago, IL team.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and field inspections of electrical equipment.
• Develop lighting plans, special provisions, pay items, and quantities for expressways, arterial/local roads, roundabouts, underpasses, tunnels, and bridges.
• Perform photometric calculations using AGi32 software.
• Assist in preparing project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
• Stay updated with advances in roadway lighting, electrical engineering, and technology.
• Review existing AS BUILT electrical/lighting plans.
• Respond to construction RFIs and questions.

Minimum Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical/lighting engineering design.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing tasks efficiently within deadlines and budget.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License.

Technical Requirements

• PE certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with technical specifications and report writing.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, Excel, Word, and AGi32 software.
• Experience with WisDOT, CDOT, IDOT, Tollway ITS, lighting designs, standards, IES Guidelines, and NEC codes.

Other Qualities

• Willingness to travel approximately 5% of the time.
• Commitment to safety and safe practices.
• Ability to work independently on projects.
• Maintain organized files and documentation per company policies.
