Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support programs in radiofrequency systems, pulsed power, and microelectronics. The role requires an active DOE Q clearance or Top Secret and is on-site in Livermore, CA.

You will test and analyze high-power electromagnetic devices, develop control software for RF and pulsed power systems, and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to meet project objectives while upholding the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• Active DOE Q clearance or Top Secret clearance at hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, analyzers, power supplies).
• Proficiency with PSPICE or similar and Altium PCB tools.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on lab testing of electromagnetic devices and components.
• Analyze test results with engineering software and report findings to senior engineers.
• Write control software for pulsed power and RF systems.
• Design electrical circuits and electromagnetic devices using CAD tools.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to meet program objectives.
• Follow safety and facility oversight guidelines during demonstrations and experiments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
