Job summary

Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls, MN is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer-Technologist to design and develop electrical and electronic systems for powersports vehicles and engines, with emphasis on 3D CAD modeling and in-chassis wire harness routing.

The role requires collaborating with managers and engineers to define specifications, perform DFMEA, validate designs, manage tests, and contribute to cost reductions while staying hands-on with prototypes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, UG/CAD and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and test electrical and electronic systems including motors, ECUs, switches, relays, wire harnesses, displays, and lighting for snow and offroad products.
• Prepare and design layouts, components, and detail drawings using 3D modeling software (Siemens NX) and release into PLM system.
• Work with managers, engineers, and other personnel to establish functional specifications and test standards for electrical systems and components.
• Stay abreast of the latest electrical developments and new technologies.
• Manage project timelines and budget to meet program milestones and requirements.
• Conduct DFMEA and create test and analysis plans for product validation.
• Plan and manage component and system-level validation testing.
• Document and communicate engineering changes to other departments.
• Participate in cost reduction initiatives for components and fabrication processes.
• Follow product development processes and methods for tracking project status and open issues.
• Must be a hands-on contributor, willing to build prototypes and work on vehicles as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement of current product line.
• Support the development of service manuals and part books.
• Perform tolerance studies on components and assemblies.
