Job summary

Koger Talent is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary consulting team in Austin, TX. You will lead electrical design from concept through construction and mentor junior engineers.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of consulting experience, EIT, and strong knowledge of power systems, lighting, and codes. This role is office-based in Austin with a hybrid schedule (4 days in office, 1 day remote).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution and design for diverse building types.
• Proficiency with electrical modeling software (SKM/ETAP).
• Experience with NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical and lighting plans, specifications, and reports for industrial, higher education, healthcare, and commercial projects.
• Design electrical power distribution systems including medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systems.
• Develop lighting system designs for diverse building types and applications.
• Perform electrical modeling and analysis using SKM, ETAP, or similar software.
• Apply NEC/IEEE/NESC/IESNA/IECC codes to designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam for documentation and coordination.
• Ensure designs comply with local codes and construction practices.
• Lead electrical projects from concept through construction administration.
• Coordinate across multiple disciplines and manage timelines and budgets.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to firm-wide knowledge sharing.
