Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to deliver design, analysis and studies for diverse projects. You will perform short-circuit, arc-flash and protective device coordination analyses and interact with customers to review plans.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience and proficiency in power system modeling tools. Travel to domestic and international sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years relevant experience; focus in Power Systems studies preferred.
  • Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies preferred.
  • Proficient with power system modeling software (SKM/ETAP/E Aspen/ EZPower or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of low, medium and high voltage up to 500 kV.
  • Clear English communication, both written and verbal, with customers and co-workers.
  • Field experience with substations/switchgear is desirable; travel available.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering related design, analysis and studies for domestic or international projects.
  • Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination and arc-flash studies.
  • Perform power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis.
  • Occasionally interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans.
  • Occasionally work in the field under the direction of Field Services team on shut-down, startup and maintenance projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years relevant experience; prefer educational focus in Power Systems studies.
  • Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies PREFFERED.
  • Must have experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EZPower, or other power system modeling software.
  • Must have knowledge of low, medium and high‑voltage up to 500 kV.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable doing so directly to customers and co‑workers.
  • Field experience with substations or switchgear highly desirable.
  • Utility design experience a plus.
  • Availability for occasional domestic and international travel a plus.
