Job summary

IES in Batavia, Ohio seeks an Electrical Engineer focused on power distribution, including circuit breakers, switchboards, transformers, and wiring. You will size wires, review vendor cut sheets, and ensure NEC compliance while supporting cross-functional teams.

The role involves designing testing methods, assisting sales, and developing manufacturing processes, with collaboration across engineering and purchasing to verify form, fit & function of vendor materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 4+ years of experience with power distribution components (circuit breakers, switchboards, transformers, disconnects, distribution panels, AC/DC wiring).
• Personable and customer-service oriented.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and design electrical systems by selecting products, components, and materials to meet application and customer requirements.
• Confirm system capabilities by designing testing methods and procedures; support customer system testing and witness testing.
• Develop solutions to support product sales by studying customer requirements and testing manufacturing methods and materials.
• Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components and gathering observations from the shop floor.
• Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods and coordinating with quality departments (ISO).
• Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provide engineering information by answering questions and supporting Sales and Customer service, Warranty and Field Service.
