Job summary

As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate innovative electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts—to deliver impactful solutions. Electrical Engineer, Power Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and validate electrical subsystems or simple systems for Meta's hardware products, with increasing independence
• Create schematics, direct the board layout, and participate in design reviews
• Conduct feasibility studies and analyses to evaluate new technologies and components
• Support manufacturing builds, hardware bring-up, and troubleshooting activities
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines (mechanical, firmware, software, etc.) to deliver integrated solutions
• Document requirements, specifications, and test criteria for modules and systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical performance and reliability issues
• Demonstrate sustained self-driven productivity and ownership of assigned areas
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners and contribute to team-level goals
• Participate in process improvement, knowledge sharing, and organizational activities as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
• 2+ years of professional experience in electrical design or a relevant technical field
• Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and circuit and/or system design
• Experience with schematic and board design using industry-standard tools (e.g., Cadence Orcad, Altium)
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment and debugging hardware
• Experience working with at least one of the following: digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC/PMIC, or battery management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant industry experience in power delivery validation and design of DC-DC voltage regulators (e.g. control schemes, power stage MOSFETs, magnetics and decoupling), hot-swap circuitry (e.g. controller ICs, MOSFET load switches, current sense amplifiers)
• Experience with design and troubleshooting of power management interfaces (e.g. PMBus, AVS, SVID and SVI2)
• Knowledge of using Linux for testing and automation/script development
• Experience with power integrity evaluation
• Experience with low voltage and high current power subsystems of CPU, GPU, SoC, ASIC and/or FPGA, and related schematic and PCB design
• Familiar with defining specification and validation of power connectors, cable assemblies and fuses
• Familiar with NPI hardware design and deployment cycle
• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Power Electronics
• Familiar with power delivery architecture of one major CPU supplier
• Experience with development of test automation for power validation
• Experience with end-to-end power delivery network design, simulation (e.g. SIMPLIS, Sigrity PowerDC/SI, ANSYS SIWave or equivalent) and board level correlation
