Job description

Meta is seeking a Director, Power Utilization and Infrastructure Efficiency to lead a multidisciplinary organization focused on maximizing the utilization, reliability, and cost efficiency of power across Meta’s data center infrastructure. This leader will build and scale teams across software engineering, operations research, research science, and technical program management to develop models, systems, and programs that improve how Meta plans, allocates, and uses power at global infrastructure scale. This role will own the strategy and execution for data-driven power utilization across the data center fleet, including power consumption modeling, utilization and reliability forecasting, optimization systems, and integration with fulfillment and capacity planning systems. The role will also lead infrastructure efficiency programs that improve end-to-end cycle time, utilization, reliability, and cost across Meta’s infrastructure supply and fulfillment ecosystem.

Director, Power Utilization and Infrastructure Efficiency Responsibilities:
  • research scientists, and technical program managers focused on power utilization, reliability modeling, and infrastructure efficiency.
  • Define the long-term strategy, roadmap, and operating model for data-driven power planning and utilization across Meta’s data center infrastructure.
  • Build data models that represent power consumption, constraints, utilization, and reliability across data centers, capacity planning systems, and fulfillment workflows.
  • Develop mathematical, statistical, and simulation-based models to predict power utilization, demand, risk, reliability, and available headroom across the fleet.
  • Build production systems that use model outputs to inform fulfillment decisions and improve power allocation, infrastructure readiness, and capacity utilization.
  • Partner with data center engineering, capacity planning, supply chain, finance, hardware, network, and infrastructure operations teams to translate power insights into execution plans.
  • Lead efficiency programs that improve end-to-end infrastructure metrics, including cycle time, utilization, cost, reliability, and operational throughput.
  • Establish metrics, review mechanisms, and decision systems that help Meta make tradeoffs across power availability, reliability, capacity delivery, and business demand.
  • Develop technical and organizational leaders, including managers and senior individual contributors, and build a durable leadership bench for a growing area of infrastructure investment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure systems, operations research, data science, capacity planning, data center infrastructure, power systems, or a related technical field
