Job summary

Day & Zimmermann's Maintenance & Construction team seeks an Electrical Engineer to support projects across power generation, renewable energy, industrial, and chemical markets. You will develop design criteria, assist with procurement, and conduct field tasks to ensure successful execution.

You may lead scopes, budgets, schedules, and staffing, while collaborating with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams. Strong execution and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred and ABET accredited.
  • State licensure as a Professional Engineer required or by the state board.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience in related fields.
  • PE licensure strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical guidance and engineering support for project activities.
  • Develops and monitors project scopes; assesses changes and impacts.
  • Coordinates design efforts with other disciplines and client personnel.
  • Ensures design documents are correct, code-compliant, and constructible.

Join Day & Zimmermann's Maintenance & Construction team as an Electrical Engineer and support innovative projects across the power generation, renewable energy, industrial, and chemical markets. Under general supervision, you'll develop engineering design criteria and specifications, support equipment and material procurement, and perform field assignments and factory inspections to help ensure successful project execution.

This is an opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects throughout the plant life cycle while collaborating with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams. You may also take on discipline-specific administrative and supervisory responsibilities, including developing project scopes, engineering budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and leading assigned personnel.

As the Electrical Engineer, here's the work you'll do:

  • Provides technical guidance and engineering support for assigned project activities.
  • Develops and monitors project scopes for applicable discipline. Identifies changes in scope and their impact, as they occur.
  • Provides coordination of design efforts with other disciplines and client personnel.
  • Monitors and ensures design work and documents are correct, consistent with applicable codes, logically presented and constructible.
  • When responsible for work, stamps required project documents as a PE.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Experience in effective project execution and project procedures. Ability to supervise and lead the completion of projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective verbal/written communication skills for execution of multiple projects.
  • Well versed in industrial design practices for medium and low voltage electrical distribution including, but not limited to, lighting, grounding, lighting protection, power distribution, heat tracing and electrical area classification. Experience applying industry codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA).
  • Familiar with the requirements for electrical power system studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash, etc.) executed using SKM and/or ETAP.
  • Knowledgeable in the utilization of Autodesk tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, ReCap).

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, degree must be ABET accredited
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, degree must be ABET accredited
  • Acceptable to the State Board of Engineers for licensure as a professional engineer required
  • 6+ years engineering experience required
  • PE strongly preferred

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $102,960 - $154,440. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
