Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (required).
  • Master’s in Electrical Engineering preferred (ABET-accredited).
  • State Board licensure as a Professional Engineer required.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience.
  • PE licensure strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering efforts for renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Develop and manage detailed project scopes within electrical discipline, assess changes and impacts.
  • Coordinate electrical design activities with other disciplines and client personnel for integrated outcomes.
  • Review design work and documentation for accuracy and code compliance.
  • Where designated, stamp project documents with PE seal to validate engineering outputs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by integrating new renewable technologies into design practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during design and construction phases.

Education

ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
8+ years of engineering experience

Job Summary

Join D&Z as an Electrical Engineer specializing in Renewables within our Engineering Operations Services. This key role involves supporting and enhancing renewable energy projects through expert electrical engineering design and oversight. Under general supervision, you will develop comprehensive engineering design criteria and detailed specifications for assigned contracts, ensuring quality through meticulous evaluation and coordination with cross-functional teams. You will actively contribute to all stages of project execution, including preparing quotations, managing purchase orders for equipment and materials, and performing rigorous field assignments and factory inspections to confirm adherence to industry standards and project requirements. In this position, you may also assume administrative and supervisory responsibilities, such as crafting discipline scope documents, managing engineering budgets, developing schedules, and guiding team staffing plans. Collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including clients and interdisciplinary teams, is essential to deliver innovative and compliant engineering solutions that drive sustainable energy initiatives forward. This role provides a dynamic work environment where professional growth is encouraged and your expertise directly impacts the advancement of renewable energy infrastructure.

As An Electrical Engineer, Here's The Work You'll Do
  • Lead technical efforts by providing expert guidance on the electrical aspects of renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and client objectives.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage detailed project scopes within the electrical engineering discipline, promptly identifying and evaluating any changes and their impacts to maintain project integrity and timelines.
  • Coordinate electrical design activities with other engineering disciplines and client personnel to achieve seamless, integrated project outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of design work and documentation to guarantee accuracy, compliance with applicable codes, and practical constructability.
  • When designated, authenticate project documents with a Professional Engineer (PE) stamp, validating the quality and responsibility of engineering outputs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by integrating emerging renewable energy technologies and methodologies into design practices.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during both design and construction phases, ensuring efficient problem-solving and project success.
And If You Have These Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, degree must be ABET accredited
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, degree must be ABET accredited
  • Acceptable to the State Board of Engineers for licensure as a professional engineer required
  • 8+ years engineering experience required
  • PE strongly preferred

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $102,960 - $154,440. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
