Job summary

STS Technical Services in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to design and develop electrical control systems for heat processing and process cleaning equipment.

The role requires hands-on PLC programming, strong systems integration, and the ability to create electrical schematics, control architectures and sequence-of-operations documentation under the Electrical Engineering Manager. Occasional site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Two to four years of related experience in an Electrical Engineering or PLC environment.
• Experience with heat processing equipment or related equipment design.
• At least two years of PLC programming experience.
• Experience with PLC architecture design and software programming.
• Familiarity with systems integration.
• Experience working with PLCs and HMIs.
• Knowledge of instrumentation.
• Knowledge of networking and communications.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD tools.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Familiarity with gas trains and associated codes.
• Understanding of NFPA, NEC, UL, CE and OSHA requirements.
• Ability to record and document technical information clearly.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical control systems using PLCs, relays, and related devices.
• Develop electrical schematic drawings and bills of materials.
• Design PLC architectures for heat processing and process cleaning equipment.
• Develop and program PLC software.
• Review sales contracts and identify critical project requirements.
• Monitor compliance with customer requirements.
• Maintain compliance with applicable National, NFPA and UL codes.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation.
• Provide project leadership on assigned efforts.
• Support teamwork and customer communication throughout projects.
