You’ll work independently on assigned design tasks, collaborate with civil, structural, protection & control, and project teams, and support field activities as needed, with guidance from senior technical staff on complex assignments. • Develop and review physical design drawings, including layouts, grounding, conduit, sections, and bills of materials.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including bus sizing, loading, and conductor sizing, and support technical reviews.
  • Prepare technical specifications and equipment documentation with appropriate technical oversight.
  • Coordinate assigned physical substation design activities with civil, structural, protection & control, and project teams.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input during project meetings.
  • Share technical knowledge with junior team members and seek guidance from senior engineers when needed.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify conditions and support design development.
  • Provide engineering support during construction and assist in resolving field-related technical issues under fast-track timelines.

  • Working knowledge of physical substation design and generation and transmission (G&T) equipment, as well as medium-voltage campus distribution switchgear.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and related standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks, coordinate with project teams, and balance competing priorities.
  • Comfort working in both remote and field environments, with ability to travel up to 25%.
