Job description

AppleOne is pleased to partner with a company in Huntington Beach needing an Electrical Engineer with PCS experience. This is a direct hire role. This role will support advanced industrial hardware, precision optical inspection systems, and aerospace-grade component processing equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on electrical engineering professional who enjoys designing, validating, and integrating complex PCB assemblies and electrical systems from concept through production. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a collaborative engineering environment with supportive leadership, strong cross-functional teamwork, and meaningful technical challenges. The Electrical Engineer, PCB will partner closely with firmware, mechanical, optical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, production-ready hardware for sophisticated industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and support multi-layer PCB assemblies, including power delivery, signal routing, ruggedized connectors, and interface selection.
  • Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using controlled impedance routing and signal integrity best practices.
  • Lead board bring-up, electrical validation, troubleshooting, and hands-on lab debugging for prototype and production hardware.
  • Conduct signal and power integrity analysis to ensure robust system performance across operating conditions.
  • Support end-of-line test infrastructure, including test fixtures, firmware flashing workflows, and production validation sequences.
  • Create and maintain electrical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, test procedures, and calibration instructions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Design, prototype, validate, and support multi-layer PCB assemblies and electrical systems.
  • Lead board bring-up, lab debugging, electrical validation, and production hardware support.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, optical, and manufacturing teams on system integration.
  • Develop electrical documentation packages, test procedures, BOMs, and release-ready engineering records.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience designing, laying out, and validating electrical systems.
  • Proven experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, controlled impedance routing, high-speed PCB design, and low-noise PCB design principles.
  • Practical lab experience using digital oscilloscopes, power supplies, hipot testing equipment, and related test instrumentation.
  • Experience with MOSFET-based high-frequency DC-DC switching, power supply design, electronic ballast design, and power conditioning for noise-sensitive circuits.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware programming or debugging, and scripting such as Python for automation, integration, or data processing.
  • Knowledge of EMC and machine safety practices, including grounding, shielding, filtering, CE compliance, and safety requirements.
  • Experience with wire harness design, connector selection, umbilical system integration, routing, shielding, strain relief, and environmental considerations.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturing, hardware design reviews, configuration management, revision control, and controlled hardware release processes.
  • Experience with high-speed digital and vision interfaces such as MIPI CSI-2, DSI, and USB3 Vision.
  • Strong debugging, diagnostic, documentation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $135,000 to $140,000 per year.
  • Job type: Direct hire.
