Job summary

Hut 8 Corp. in Fort Lauderdale seeks an Electrical Engineer who can design end-to-end electrical systems for data centers, owning it from interconnects to distribution.

You will serve as Engineer of Record for protection coordination, short-circuit studies, and arc-flash analysis, and collaborate with utilities, vendors, and construction teams to energize projects.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7+ years designing electrical systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards.
• Experience with utility interconnections and power-system studies.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end electrical systems: interconnects, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for protective coordination and short-circuit/arc-flash studies.
• Work with construction teams, utilities, and vendors; support energization through commissioning.
• Push for cost-effective, safe, reliable power solutions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We need an Electrical Engineer who thinks from first principles, questions convention, and wants the weight of owning the outcome. Someone who can design it, stand behind it, solve for it in the field, and build the runway as they go.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• Design it: Own electrical systems end-to-end: utility interconnects, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS, and power distribution.


• Stamp it: Serve as Engineer of Record for one-lines, protection coordination, short-circuit, arc-flash, and related power-system studies.


• Build it: Stay close to construction, solve field issues in real time, and own the work through commissioning and energization.


• Challenge it: Push on cost, constructability, redundancy, and third-party designs without compromising safety or reliability.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• years designing electrical systems for data centers, industrial, or other mission-critical facilities.


• Deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and critical power systems.


• Fluency with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower and redundancy topologies including N+1 and 2N.


• Experience working directly with utilities, equipment vendors, construction teams, and commissioning through energization.
