Job summary
Idaho National Laboratory seeks an Electrical Engineer in the Reactor Project Engineering department to design and analyze electrical and control systems for advanced nuclear reactors. You will collaborate with top scientists to develop designs for INL program sponsors at the Materials and Fuels Complex, with a 4x10 work schedule and Friday off.
You will review external designs, develop system alternatives, and ensure compliance with technical baselines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
- Advanced degree preferred for complex systems and R&D roles.
- Experience with electrical power systems and controls in nuclear or high-risk environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze electrical and control systems for advanced nuclear reactors.
- Collaborate with customers to evaluate system alternatives and risks.
- Provide technical reviews and ensure compliance with baselines and safety requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and oversee high-risk electrical systems operations.
- Coordinate testing activities with partners and constructors.
