Job summary

WSP USA, the U.S. operating company of WSP, is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Herndon, VA to design complex electrical systems for mission critical and commercial facilities.

You will work on generator plants, MV distribution, UPS, lighting, fire alarm, and grounding, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and clients to deliver reliable, code-compliant solutions. Strong Revit/AutoCAD experience and field travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with electrical building systems emphasis.
• 3+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for high-performing, commercial, industrial, or mission critical/data center buildings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, ETAP or CYME.
• Knowledge of building, electrical and energy codes.
• Ability to organize and present design information to project staff.
• Attention to detail, highly organized, self-starter.
• Ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including lighting, receptacle, general, essential, and critical electrical infrastructure.
• Work in a team or independently, planning and executing engineering tasks within projects.
• Demonstrate understanding of the range of services provided by the kW MCE engineering teams and related practices.
• Independently support the team during design and construction stages of projects.
• Lead the electrical design of complex projects.
• Develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners.
