  • Minimum 3+ years of electrical engineering design experience in industrial power systems.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NESC/IEEE C2, and protective relaying philosophies.

Responsibilities

  • On-Time Delivery: Plan and manage time effectively to ensure the successful execution and on-time delivery of assigned microgrid and industrial infrastructure projects.
  • Team Mentorship: Mentor and assist in the professional development of junior engineers and designers on power systems fundamentals.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in strict compliance with NEC, IEEE/ANSI, NERC/FERC, ISO/RSO rules, utility interconnection requirements, and client guidelines.
  • Power Systems Design: Design and draft complex electrical systems, including low- and medium-voltage power distribution (480V up to 15kV/35kV class), generation integration (BESS, Solar PV, Generators), and critical facility switchgear.
  • Advanced Modeling: Utilize CAD and Revit to create construction documents, single-line diagrams, and layouts for industrial energy infra.
  • Power System Studies: Perform detailed electrical calculations and studies using SKM or ETAP, including short-circuit and protective coordination.
  • Equipment Specification: Develop specifications for major electrical equipment (fuses, transformers, switchgear, relays).
  • Site Assessments: Conduct field investigations to evaluate capacity and interconnection feasibility.
  • Interface Management: Directly interface with asset owners, utilities, cross-functional leads, procurement, and construction crews.
  • Collaborative Alignment: Work within an interdisciplinary team to maintain standardized design blocks and best practices.
  • Construction Administration: Provide BOM reviews, submittal evaluations, and final reports.
  • Field Troubleshooting: Support field teams during installation and startup of microgrid controls and switchgear.

This roleis responsible forleadingthe electricalengineering design of advanced microgrids, industrial power systems, and renewable energy integration projects. The successful candidate will create comprehensive CAD drawings, manage tight project deadlines, and ensure engineering deliverables meet robust technical standards. This position requires a strong technical background in medium- and low-voltage power distribution, generation integration, and protective relaying, combined with the skills to produce complex project documents from conception through commissioning.

Pay

$87,500 - $162,500

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location,and alignment with market data.

Key Responsibilities

Site Assessments:Conduct detailed field investigations of existing industrial facility electrical systems to evaluate capacity and interconnection feasibility.

Stakeholder & Utility Relations

Interface Management:Directly interface with asset owners, electric utilities, cross-functional engineering leads, procurement teams, and construction crews to ensure project milestones and interconnection requirements are met.

Collaborative Alignment:Work seamlessly within an interdisciplinary engineering team to maintain standardized design blocks and engineering best practices.

Construction Administration

Provide construction administration and commissioning support, including Bill of Material (BOM) technical reviews, submittal evaluations, and final completion reports.

Field Troubleshooting

Assist field teams with technical troubleshooting during the installation and startup phases of microgrid controls and switchgear.

Required Qualifications

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineeringfrom an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent.

Experience:3+ years of experience in electrical engineering design, specifically focused on industrial power systems, heavy infrastructure, microgrids, or renewable energy integration.

Technical Software:Proficiency in AutoCAD is required (Revit is a plus), hands-on experience with SKM or ETAP modeling software is highly preferred.

Codes & Standards:Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC/IEEE C2), and industry-standard protective relaying philosophies.
