Job summary

Schnackel Engineers, Inc is seeking an Electrical Engineer to coordinate with clients and MEP/FP teams across North America, including design validation and code compliance. The role emphasizes electrical design, lighting, and fire alarm systems using AutoCAD and Revit.

Ideal candidates have an ABET-accredited degree focused on electrical power, EI credentials, and the ability to pursue PE credentials. Training, relocation examples, and a broad benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with emphasis on Electrical Engineering
• 3-5+ years electrical design experience with MEP/FP engineering consultant
• Engineer-Intern (EI) credentials in Electrical Engineering
• Willing to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) credentials in Electrical Engineering
• Exceptional communication and organization skills
• Advanced proficiency with NFPA 70 and NFPA 72
• Experience designing lighting and lighting control systems, panel schedules, one-line/riser diagrams, and fire alarm systems

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with client and design teams to ensure a fully coordinated design and schedule
• Participate in meetings and conference calls
• Create electrical construction document packages using AutoCAD/Revit
• Perform load, short-circuit, and photometric calculations
• Coordinate with equipment vendors for specification of equipment
• Provide mentoring and guidance for colleagues
