Job summary

Stillpoint AEC seeks an Electrical Engineer with current experience designing electrical systems for buildings within an MEP/AEC environment. You will lead design efforts for power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and fire alarm systems, ensuring code compliance and quality deliverables.

Responsibilities include calculations, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and coordination with architecture, MEPT disciplines, and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Current electrical building systems design experience within an MEP/AEC environment.
  • Experience with power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and other building electrical systems.
  • PE licensure preferred; EIT candidates progressing toward PE licensure will be considered.
  • Experience with industry software such as Revit, AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower, AGi32, Visual Lighting is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, energy codes, and applicable electrical/building codes.
  • Experience preparing electrical engineering calculations, plans, specs, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

  • Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, equipment sizing, and related analysis.
  • Develop power distribution systems, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, lighting controls, and equipment specifications.
  • Perform electrical service and distribution design including transformers, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, generators, and related infrastructure.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Apply NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and applicable building/electrical design standards.
  • Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil, technology, and other disciplines.
  • Support projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Provide project coordination, technical guidance, client interaction, and mentorship based on experience level.

The firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer with current experience designing electrical systems for buildings within an MEP consulting engineering or AEC environment. Responsibilities and project leadership will align with the individual's technical expertise and experience level.

  • Experience preparing electrical engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and construction documents
