Job summary

Stillpoint AEC, partnering with a respected MEP consulting engineering firm, seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead building electrical design. You will design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and auxiliary systems, perform load calculations, develop single-line diagrams, and prepare construction documents in an AEC environment.

Role emphasizes coordination with architecture, mechanical, plumbing and other disciplines, adherence to NEC/NFPA energy codes, and mentorship based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Current electrical building systems design experience in an MEP/AEC environment.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and NFPA energy codes.

Responsibilities

• Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, equipment sizing, and related electrical engineering analysis.
• Develop power distribution systems, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting layouts, lighting controls, and electrical equipment specifications.
• Perform electrical service and distribution design including transformers, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, generators, and related building electrical infrastructure.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Apply NEC, NFPA, energy codes, and applicable building and electrical design standards.
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, civil, technology, and other project disciplines.
• Support projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
• Provide project coordination, technical guidance, client interaction, and mentorship based on experience level.
