Job summary

Parker in Irvine, California is seeking an Electrical Engineer IV to lead the design, analysis, and testing of electronics hardware across defense programs. You will work independently and may lead projects, ensuring schedules and budgets are met for high-complexity systems.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years of experience in circuit design, analysis, and testing; ORCAD experience is preferred and DoD clearance is a plus. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree in electrical engineering is considered a plus.
• 10+ years related experience with electronic systems and circuit design, analysis, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of design of motor drive and control is desirable.
• Schematic capture is required. Experience in OrCAD is preferred.
• Knowledge in guiding PCB layout and familiarity with construction and assembly techniques of circuit cards.
• Knowledge of drawing and drafting standards.
• Experience with standard test equipment such as oscilloscope, DMM, function generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
• Experience and training in the Military/Aerospace Industry is desirable.
• Understanding of military specifications, IPC standards, and other industry standards and best practices is a plus.
• Strong oral/written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Project leadership experience and knowledge of project engineering methods is a plus.
• Eligibility to obtain a DoD Security Clearance is a plus.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Designs electronic circuits, systems, and processes.
• Performs analyses, simulations, and calculations to ensure the suitability of design.
• Supports testing for engineering qualification and production support. May include design and development of test fixtures and automation.
• Participates in design reviews and/or leads design reviews. Systems may involve one or more of the following: Analog Circuits, Digital Circuits, RF Circuits, FPGA/HDL, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Algorithm Development (pattern recognition, object tracking, control systems), LabView Automation.
• Troubleshoots and analyzes failures to identify root cause and corrective actions.
• Writes plans, procedures, and reports as required.
• Presents data to other engineers, other departments, and customers as required.
• Works independently and also cooperatively with interdepartmental teams.
• May occasionally travel for field support or conduct offsite testing.
• Often delegates tasks and gives guidance to other engineers, technicians, designers, and drafters.
