Job summary

CRB is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to work under a mentor, developing and implementing project deliverables for power, lighting, and building support systems. You will gain hands-on experience across design stages and collaborate with industry leads to deliver real-world solutions.

You will contribute to calculations, drawings and specs while engaging in a dynamic internship journey focused on growth, innovation, and impact within a collaborative team at CRB.

Qualifications

• Experience with power systems strongly preferred.
• Working towards Fundamentals of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and 3D collaboration tools (Navisworks, BIM360 Suite, Assemble).
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry.
• Prior internship or co-op experience in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop calculations and related design work.
• Develop project documents (calculations, reports, drawings and specifications) in coordination with codes and standards.
• Assist development of conceptual designs and coordinate with the design team under the project lead.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and stakeholders (vendors, clients, contractors).

How will I contribute?

As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables. As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will focus on the design and engineering of power, lighting, grounding/bonding, special systems; e.g., tel/ data, security, fire alarm, raceway, cable tray and other electrical control and building support systems into the built work environment. Project work may include all levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Core Responsibilities

• Typical tasks and deliverables include power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop calculations, basis of design reports, code evaluations, single line diagrams, plans, schedules, installation details, specifications, and coordination with manufacturers and construction trade partners. Tasks will include utilizing computer aided drafting and engineering software.
• Developing project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
• Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
• Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with power systems strongly preferred
