Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an electrical engineering intern to join our team, focusing on power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding design for water and wastewater facilities. You will contribute to projects in the West Region of our Resilience Water Business Line, collaborating with experienced professionals.

You will design electrical systems, perform calculations, review submittals, and support construction activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities and related industrial projects.
• Perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specs.
• Review manufacturer information to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Provide construction support, review submittals, shop drawings, and respond to RFIs.
• Work in-person at the Dallas Office location.

Arcadis is searching for an intern to join our electrical engineering team designing electrical systems for water/wastewater facilities and other industrial facilities. Using your technical capabilities and collaborating with our experienced team of professionals, you will provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding design to support projects for the West Region of our Resilience Water Business Line.

Role accountabilities

• Work on the electrical design and coordination of various projects, involving industrial, municipal projects with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plant related buildings, industrial facilities, and associated electrical systems.
• Perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
• Review manufacturer information to assure compliance with specifications.
• Provide engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI’s (request for information).
• Candidate will be expected to work in-person at our Dallas Office location.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field of study.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
• Basic knowledge of power distribution and motor control concepts.

Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations
