Job summary

Arcadis U.S.Inc. is seeking an electrical engineering intern to join our team designing electrical systems for water and industrial facilities, focusing on power distribution, motor controls, lighting and grounding.

You will work with experienced engineers, perform design calculations, create one-line diagrams, review submittals, and assist during construction. You will be based in our Dallas office but support the West Region in our Resilience Water Business Line.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or REVIT and power distribution concepts.
• Active participation in regional or national professional associations.

Responsibilities

• Assist electrical design and coordination for projects with emphasis on water and wastewater facilities.
• Perform design calculations and develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specs.
• Review manufacturer information to verify compliance with specifications.
• Provide engineering support during construction, including reviewing submittals and RFIs.
• Work in-person at Dallas Office.

Role description:

Arcadis is searching for an intern to join our electrical engineering team designing electrical systems for water/wastewater facilities and other industrial facilities. Using your technical capabilities and collaborating with our experienced team of professionals, you will provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and grounding design to support projects for the West Region of our Resilience Water Business Line.

Role accountabilities:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Work on the electrical design and coordination of various projects, involving industrial, municipal projects with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plant related buildings, industrial facilities, and associated electrical systems.
• Perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.
• Review manufacturer information to assure compliance with specifications.
• Provide engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI's (request for information).
• Candidate will be expected to work in-person at our Dallas Office location.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field of study.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
• Basic knowledge of power distribution and motor control concepts.

Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations
