Job summary

EMCORE LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and sustain the electronics behind our fiber optic gyroscope and inertial navigation products. This on-site role at the Tinley Park facility partners with a senior engineer to advance next-generation designs while maintaining production hardware.

You will work with mixed-signal systems, embedded MCUs, DSPs, and power electronics, perform analysis, update schematics in Altium, and support production, test, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• At least 2 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with analog and digital circuit design, embedded MCUs, and ADCs.
• Experience with Altium or equivalent PCB layout tools.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and sustain engineering in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, debug, and test analog and digital circuitry for FOG and inertial systems.
• Troubleshoot production and field failures; perform root cause analysis.
• Resolve component obsolescence and implement replacements.
• Update schematics, layouts, and BOMs in Altium; manage design changes.
• Perform circuit analysis and simulation for reliability.
• Create and maintain design docs, test plans, and reports.
• Execute tasks, increase ownership with experience.
• Provide technical support to production, test, quality, and supply chain.
• Stay current with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
