Job summary

Bauer is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead electrical system design on custom test equipment for specialized applications. The role covers power systems, control/distribution, instrumentation, and data acquisition, with involvement from concept through installation at customer sites.

You will design schematics and panels, select components and BOMs, develop PLC software to collect test data, and collaborate with engineering and customers. Occasional travel to sites for start-up is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering; BSEE preferred.
• Experience with PC data acquisition hardware and PLCs (Siemens TIA Portal preferred).
• Experience with industrial control systems and instrumentation.
• Experience reading/creating engineering drawings and schematics using CAD.
• Familiarity with NEC wiring codes; NFPA/CE/ATEX a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review test procedures to understand requirements.
• Design electrical systems to support hydraulic circuits.
• Support design, assembly, integration, testing and field support of industrial controls/systems.
• Create electrical schematics, operator panel and sub-panel layouts.
• Select electrical control devices and develop the BOM.
• Select instrumentation (pressure transducers, temperature sensors, etc.).
• Create functional test requirements for equipment checkout.
• Develop and implement PLC hardware/software to collect data.
• Communicate with engineering team and customer to resolve issues.
• Occasional travel to customer sites to supervise installation/startup.
