Job summary

Bauer, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead electrical system design on custom test equipment for specialized applications. You will own the system from concept through field installation, coordinating with manufacturing and customers to ensure performance and safety.

The role requires a strong grasp of electrical power and control systems, data acquisition, and instrumentation, with travel to customer sites for startup and support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent (BSEE preferred).
• Experience with PCs, data acquisition hardware and PLCs.
• Experience with industrial control/systems and transducers.
• Experience reading/creating engineering drawings and schematics using CAD applications.
• Knowledge of NEC electrical codes and wiring standards for industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with NFPA Hazardous Area Classifications, CE and ATEX requirements, a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review test procedures for components to understand requirements.
• Design complete electrical system to support hydraulic circuits.
• Support design, documentation, assembly, integration, test and field support of industrial controls/systems.
• Create electrical schematics, operator panel and sub-panel layouts.
• Select electrical control devices and develop the BOM.
• Ensure design compliance with electrical standards.
• Develop data acquisition hardware/software to collect test data.
• Communicate with engineering team and customer to resolve issues.
• Occasional travel to customer site to supervise installation/startup.
