Job summary

Eastman is seeking an Electrical Engineer in our Engineering & Services Department (Electrical & Instrumentation) to provide technical support for plant operating and maintenance, and to support capital projects from scope definition through equipment design and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 2+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cross-functional teams.
• Competency in electrical engineering concepts including power distribution, controls, and instrumentation.
• Strong commitment to personnel and process safety.

Responsibilities

• Must understand and follow all applicable safety requirements and expectations.
• Actively participate on improvement teams, projects, and safety programs; follow and uphold the Eastman Team principles.
• Provide electrical and instrumentation (E&I) engineering technical support for study, definition and detailed design.
• Interpret codes and standards related to functional areas of expertise.
• Maintain technical expertise in assigned functional areas, such as power distribution, instrumentation, motors, etc.
• Provide forecast cost and schedule estimates for capital and maintenance projects.
• Define scope of work for electrical and instrumentation portion of projects.
• Provide E&I engineering design and specifications to support engineering, procurement and construction activities for projects.
• Identify opportunities for improved electrical and instrumentation engineering design and services (e.g., quality, cost, reliability).
• Participate in and lead improvement projects related to the E&I engineering discipline and other engineering services.
• Perform assigned duties with attention to safety in both work practices and design.
• Perform assigned duties with a focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction.
